    Guillermo Cuellar penned this song by picking verses of «The Flame Tree», a poem written by Alfredo Espino. At the dawn of the last century, the further poet was born, but die young on May 24, 1928. After dying, relatives and friends collected his drafts into «Jícaras Tristes», a book which holds the best pieces created when Espino was just a teen. Then Guillermo composed more melodies for another eight poems, to produce and cut an entire album devoted to the centenary of the young Salvadoran poet's birth (1900-2000).

Guillermo Cuellar escribió esta canción desgranando versos de «Árbol de Fuego», un poema escrito por Alfredo Espino. En los albores del siglo pasado el futuro poeta nació, pero murió a temprana edad el 24 de mayo de 1928. No obstante, después de fallecido, familiares y amistades recolectaron y publicaron sus bosquejos en «Jícaras Tristes», un libro que contiene las mejores piezas creadas cuando Espino era apenas un adolescente. Por su parte, Guillermo acomodó melodías a otros ocho poemas, para producir y publicar con «Exceso de Equipaje» todo un álbum temático dedicado al centenario del nacimiento del joven bardo salvadoreño (1900-2000).
